Last week we'd mentioned the Windows Vista Countdown Gadget -- now we've gone and added it to our site so that it appears on every page !
Go here to get the gadget for your site, Live.com page and Windows Live Space.
Is there a place to send vista "bugs" ? I'm using the released edition from MSDN and am having an issue with graphics - specifically the bundled games. Chess is the worst - you can't see the board because is shows up as weird, grainy graphics. Sometimes in freecell, the messages that popup in the lower corner have garbled text rather than anything readable. Please point me in the right direction?
Nice gadget. Added it to my sidebar.
Is this for real??
I found this posted on http://digg.com/
http://www.powertogether.com/, article titled "Free Office 2007 Professional & Windows Vista DVDs from Microsoft". The deal is you watch 3 webcasts, give some personal info, and maybe in 6-8 weeks you'll get a free fully licensed copy of Vista or Office 2007 in the mail.
Doesn't sound legit to me, I couldn't find it in a search at microsoft.com. Anyone know if this is for real??
Thanks I just changed back to the default site Theme so I can see it. Looks good.
I found this posting on the Japanese website "Windows Forest" talking about the countdown gadget, or at least I THINK that's what they're talking about. ;)

Hey jtreefrog: You can submit feedback via this feedback form: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/sentiments/default.mspx.
If you need tech support, you might seek help in the public Windows Vista newsgroups: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/.
I have looked everywhere for an answer to my problem...
My sidebar just vanished and does not start up again after a restart or running the sidebar.exe file. If you run the EXE file nothing happens. and if you try and install a gadget it says "Unspecified error".
This happened on 3 different computer now, after an install it works for a while and all of a sudden after a restart its gone.
Folks,
Any idea when will Vista be available in localized languages?
RC2 was released in Spanish-French-German-Japanese
Is there a chance that Vista will be released on MSDN for the above languages by Dec 15? Excuse me if this comment appears on the wrong topic...still some information would help me
Hey jecrawf, et al: that site is indeed legit; it's an offer put together by our US subsidiary, and so only US residents are eligible.
If you have questions on how the program runs, you'll want to use the Contact Us link in the page footer to submit questions or feedback.
FYI, their servers are overloaded right now, so if you have trouble accessing the site, keep trying. I know that the team behind this is expanding their server capacity at the moment and so the experience should improve shortly.
Nick White, you can download language packs from windows update in vista, but they are optional, so you'll have to look for dem manuelly
@ Nick White
Is there going to be a European equivalent to the powertogether.com offer?
Thanks
Thanks for clearing up the powertogether website thing Nick, I was worried that it wasnt legit. However I already told everyone in my IT department about it yesterday, so if it was a phishing website that would have been pretty bad for me.
I love the power together logo on the site, makes me think that it would be nice to be able to customize the round start button on Vista!
Hey wolfhound: as I said, I really am not the best source of information on this offer, nor am I prepared speak to what our other regions or subsidiaries will that may be similar or different. Sorry, but the alias provided on the site is better equipped to answer your questions than am I.
Hey Neelesh Pandey: I do know that the first 3 waves of Windows Vista languages have RTM’ed and were handed over to OEMs as well as the FPP (fully-packaged product) production channel. These first 3 waves consist of 13 languages, among them being English, German, Japanese, Spanish, French, Chinese, Korean and others. Hence, the channel is well prepped for their release come General Availability on 30 Jan; unfortunately, I cannot speak to exactly when localized versions will be released on MSDN/TechNet.
Thanks. This information helps for sure :)
Hey Stormbringer_za: Sorry, but we're just not equipped to handle support-related issues. Please check out the MSDN and/or TechNet newsgroups for help.
Hi
